Wow, great collection!

I find it interesting how many of these privacy-centric companies are based in Sweden, Iceland, or Switzerland. Surely no accident.

Re: THE TREASURE WHICH IS PRIVACY ( source https://anarplex.net/ )

This is deep. And I totally agree that privacy by default has to be everywhere. It's not real privacy if it's opt-in. Only opt-out privacy can give real freedom in the world today. And this privacy has to be enforced both by technology and also the legal system (like GDPR, etc.)

Re: Bitcoin not received

Perhaps your transaction hasn't been confirmed? This would mean you see the pending balance in your account, but can't yet spend it as it hasn't been fully verified.

Could you share the public address of your wallet, so that we can check the status?
Also, what wallet software are you using?

We should think of progress in terms of percentages.

So if Winstars goes from 20c to $1, that's a 500% increase. The same as if BTC went from $5,000 to $25,000 :-)

One thing that's not clear to me based on this announcement: Are they just utilizing a private blockchain, or actually making the entire blockchain visible to the public for extra transparency?

Re: Wallet recommendations?

I second the recommendations above for hardware wallets. The Ledger Nano S or Trezor, depending on which altcoins you'd like to store (if any) would be the best choice. If you want to keep money in a software wallet or an exchange you can choose almost any one you want, but the risk will always be h...

Re: Android Phone Flashing

Sounds like you want to run Android in kiosk mode. I'm not sure it has a feature for this, but there are at least two options: 1. You could write an Android app that runs on startup, and launches the webpage/app requested. 2. You could build a custom version of Android based on the AOSP that only al...

Re: NEO Is Either a Raging Success or a Total Disaster

The question is, what competition does NEO really have? The biggest competitor would naturally be Ethereum, but the two don't actually overlap as much as one might think. The developers of NEO are integrating strong identity services that are designed to work with the government to create a blockcha...

It's interesting that many websites in the adult industry seem to have started accepting Bitcoin as a payment option.

This is one reason I believe the currency will be here to stay for a long time :D Like VHS vs BetaMax.

despite lightnings many shortcomings, to say it offers zero value to the community as a plausible scaling solution is not a correct way of thinking either. I agree that it's not right to discount the value of the technology entirely. But even if there is intrinsic merit in a scaling solution, it ne...

Usually if two coins are using the same algorithm it's easy to switch. For the current coin you're mining, you probably had to: 1. Sign up for a mining pool 2. Copy their hostname, port, username, and password into your mining software 3. Start running the software and processing work from the minin...

We've been hearing about BTC's "solutions" to the scaling problem for years now. But as the plans and conversations about possible future solutions (such as the still-incomplete Lightning Network) continue, the network gets more and more overloaded. The tipping point for me was during the past few m...

Interesting project! Have you observed any correlation between the statistics in the right hand columns and the respective price for these tokens? Perhaps some machine learning could be done to analyze the relationship and use this to help predict future profitability.

Re: Moldova Becomes Yet Another European Country to Experiment with Blockchain Tech

I think these smaller countries have a lot more to gain from offering crypto based payment solutions. Firstly there's the PR - elevating them in the global eye and making people more aware of their existence. But also since their economy is smaller it's easier to scale and deploy new solutions witho...

This is only relevant as long as goods and services need to be purchased using fiat. As more and more shops add Bitcoin as a native payment method, it doesn't matter if you have a debit card or just pay directly with Bitcoin. Of course we're not there just yet. Re: reddit - Elizabeth Stark of Lightning Labs admits that a hostile actor can steal funds in LN unless broadcast on-cha

People seem to be getting very excited that Lightning Network is being rolled out slowly. But if all it adds is some extra latency before transactions are on the main chain, and extra risk until that point, I don't see why it's such an exciting development. Maybe I'm missing something, but the curre...
