Best desktop wallet for U.K. Not requiring whole blockchain download

Hi, new to this forum and to bitcoin generally which is blowing my mind currently! Can anyone recommend a trusted and secure desktop wallet for the uk which doesn't require downloading the entire blockchain. Any advice appreciated. Thanks.
