Purse.io is a great place, definitely :) We need Amazon themselves to accept Bitcoin, though...

Why can't I import a private key into an existing Electrum wallet?

Re: Units of Bitcoin & their explanations

i like it easy. so i just think about that: 1 Bitcoin = 1.000.000 bits end. :) (geek info: the smallest part of a bitcoin is called a Satoshi :) ) That's a good way of thinking about it as well, looking at it in terms of 1,000,000 bits = 1 BTC, 100,000 bits = 0.1 BTC, etc. Quite useful. :) The real...

From other people, or an exchange such at Bitstamp or Mt. Gox.
It's kind of weird you even mention Mt. Gox as an exchange.
Hah! I barely even noticed when I was typing that out

I'll leave it there ;)

Re: The true problem regarding Discourse in the Bitcoin Community

In a perfect world, "No-Ego Bitcoin" aha ;)
Well, that is how it should be. If we let ego and emotion get in the way of civilised debate and figuring out what is best for the Bitcoin protocol, we're unlikely to actually get anywhere.

Re: The true problem regarding Discourse in the Bitcoin Community

I think most of the time, most of the people, want the same sort of things. The problems arise because people see many different ways to achieve those same goals. Small blockists claim that big blocks will lead to more centralization. Big blockists think that continuing with small blocks will lead ...

Units of Bitcoin & their explanations

Most of the units of Bitcoin are derived from the fractional prefixes from the SI (International System of Units or S ystème I nternational d'Unités) units. The first unit is a Bitcoin, which can be split up to 8 decimal places. Therefore, the smallest unit of a Bitcoin is 0.00000001 BTC, also known...

Re: Second Update! // (STAY AWAY FROM bitcoinblackfriday.INFO)

Yeah, the scam was revealed mid-day yesterday! Several deals went online that were featured such as a Gyft scam and a BitMain Tech scam, and a couple others. It's too bad that there are still these bad actors and scammers in bitcoin. It's a shame but there always will be, just as there are plenty o...

Well, they should have fixed the issue. If it was brought to their attention so long ago...why didn't they?

Re: The 21 Bitcoin Computer

I stated a while ago that unfortunately I think the 21 Bitcoin Computer is really, REALLY overpriced for what it does. I still stand by that - you could buy a Raspberry Pi 2 and a lot of equipment for it and still be $300 better off, enough for a decent ASIC. It's effectively an over-hyped Raspberry...

Re: $1,000 Bitcoin prize for the most appreciated post on this forum

Forum members that registered before the deadline will be allowed to vote for which post was the most appreciated. In my opinion I think you should just let the staff team pick the most valuable post. Letting forum members vote is just going to result in abuse, spam creation of accounts via Tor/pro...

Re: Prediction highest price bitcoin until the end of 2015?

I don't think we'll go much higher than $400-500, if we do manage to pass the $400 barrier. If we do then it's probably just a sign of another bubble, which I don't personally want.

The true problem regarding Discourse in the Bitcoin Community

This thread is going to be unbiased. It's going to talk about both sides of the coin, and it won't mention my personal beliefs on what client (Core/XT) we should support. The problem that stops discourse from happening in the Bitcoin community isn't actually the fact that there are separate clients/...
