Re: Did you spend some Coins on BitcoinBlackFriday today?

Some interesting deals but have never heard about many of those companies.

Anyone knows if the participating sellers went under any kind of verification to avoid possible scammers?

Re: Bitfilm Festival Starts Competition

This is good news! We are working on a documentary http://www.PiratesOfTheCryptoBean.com currently but don't think we will make the Oct. 21 deadline still in production. Maybe we can hit the San Francisco date? I would love to help with organizing a NYC screening. My email is info@coyotewallstreet....

That's quite a collection you've got there Roger!

Would be nice if there was a Bitcoin t-shirt and memorabilia store online.
Most t-shirts I've seen for sale so far are not very appealing, however I do like the one posted by LiteCoinGuy.

Re: Satoshi Nakamoto has been nominated to receive Nobel Prize in 2016

These named men are not a patch on the ass of Satoshi Nakamoto and his paradigm shifting brilliance. Nakamoto, if past behavior tells us anything about himself will not relinquish his anonymity to accept it, and for good reason. While I am sure Professor Chowdhry is well intended ( the road to hell...

Re: Bye bye fear, hello greed!

And maybe I just don't understand the Chinese exchanges enough, but why would the price increase allow them to accept direct bank deposits, but if the price had not run up, then they could not? I just don't get that logic at all. Unless it's more political where previously the PBOC "banned" bitcoin...

What is your prediction regarding the regulatory trends for bitcoin in the following years? 2- Will Xapo Vault remain free-of-charge for non-institutional users despite costs ...

Re: Now $325. Is this rise sustainable?

IMHO, yes. I'd even go further and argue that the previous price range of 230-260 throughout this year was unsustainably low. Despite with all the positive developments around Bitcoin, its market cap still hovers under 5 billion USD. The equivalent to 10% of that amount has already been invested in ...

Re: Proof China is leading the current rally

On another forum someone was joking that the rally was because of this high-profile kidnapping in Taiwan, in which 9 million dollars ransom was demanded to be paid in Bitcoins (later they asked for fiat) Good news is the kidnapped person was rescued by the police today and is in good condition. http...

Re: BitFury Reveals New Details About $100 Million Bitcoin Mine

As for $100 million to build a 100MW facility? Anyone in this industry will tell you that's ridiculous. Between the cost of labour in Georgia and the economies of scale, I'd still be shocked if the price tag was 50% lower. So, I would say that the vast majority of those funds are for building new a...

Re: How tight will moderation be?

I think users can first be warned by mods to keep on-topic and avoid ad hominems before anything else, repeated offenders can be punished and naturally obvious spam posts can be removed. However freedom of speech should be respected and just because someone's views differs from yours, it shouldn't b...

I also noticed the (obviously paid) articles with outrageous claims. A skim through the article's comments and ANN thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=944933.0) shows all sorts of red flags - centralization, censorship, no innovation, founder sued for spyware before, anonymous offshores,...

Purse.io users’ accounts compromised, hackers stole 10,235 BTC
For those who hail from countries that use dot (.) to separate decimals, that's 10 BTCs and change, not 10k BTCs ;)
Quite a small amount compared to previous bitcoin related breaches, AFAIK it has been paid back.

Looks very promising indeed, I'm surprised its been around for almost one year yet barely anyone seems to have heard about it (unlike OpenBazaar). Unreasonable censorship is what really turned me away from Reddit and some other forums, some of which have reached dictatorship levels.
Hoping that this one will keep respecting freedom of speech.

After all Bitcoin is about decentralization of power :)
