WTB GPU Mining Rigs

Mon Nov 23, 2015 4:35 pm

I want to buy your old mining rigs.
Did you previously mine for bitcoins or altcoins with GPUs, but don't know what to do with them now?

Sell them to me!

I'm looking for around 20 to 50 GPUs total, so 10 to 25 total systems I suppose.

Ideally they would all be the same configuration as well.

If you have something like this, let me know the exact details.
If they are already in Japan, or the EU, that is even better.

I'm going to be doing some SHA1 hashing for something that will be used for this very forum. What could that be? ;)

In related news, here is a funny quote from the Bitcoin.com Wiki regarding hashing.
Hash (not to be confused with hashtags or hashish which are other things entirely)

My guess: You're going to hash all contents of the forum in a chain with SHA1 POW, so that you can cryptographically prove that no content has been altered or deleted. My guess is that you will PROVE this forum to be a censorship free place. Changing content will mean redoing all the hashes.
(Although you could also achieve this by using proof of existence bitcoin blockchain, so maybe you are up to something else... like the forums own cryptotoken that you give out to contributers (similar to The Crypto Show tokens)

Nice guesses, but no one got it right yet.
We actually have to "censor" forum content often by deleting spam.
The most aggressive spamming is actually by some company selling do-it-your-self abortion drugs, posted all over the forum in the Indonesian language, and their website doesn't even seem to accept bitcoin. Go figure...

You're planning to spider another website or forum that is protected with CloudFIRE and pasting the content on this forum ;)

OK I admit I am also intrigued.

I'm just thinking out loud. Could we not prevent this kind of spam by having a user do browser based hashing for x amount of time each time he posts a message? Similar to what bitmessage does? Most spammers send as many messages per second using bots. They would not care to spam something if it is too expensive. The difficulty could be decreased with every post not marked as spam after x time.

Even smartphones would be powerful enough to spend a few seconds solving a crypto puzzle when the owner is typing.

You could even precompute these and store them as crypto tokens. Then spend your token to post a message.

You could trade these tokens with others, ie empowering bots that you actually want.

These are complete systems, or GPUs only?
What country in the EU?

Also, I'll give everyone another hint.
I'm going to use all these GPUs to help improve the privacy of the forum.

It would almost have to be related to finding collisions in SHA1.

It is cryptographically broken and collisions can be found using GPUs.

http://www.securityweek.com/new-collisi ... aking-sha1

I'm not sure how breaking sha1 codes improves the privacy of this forum, though ;)

But you would not use sha1 for hashing messages nor would you need that much firepower.

Bummer. If you where interested in receiving within the US I have a few lower end GPU's I would possibly interested in selling but given your shipping requirements I seriously doubt they would be worth it. Please let us know if you decide to start taking shipment within the states :)

I was wondering if someone was going to notice that.
It is a Japanese rice roll with seaweed and fried chicken in the middle that I bought at the convenience store.
The power supply is hot, so I set the rice roll on top of it for a bit to heat it up.

Aha, that makes sense. I was concerned about the well-being of your sushi roll, as it's ends were exposed (like they always are), and next to a (probably) dusty mining rig. ^_^
