Roger Ver Vs Samson Mow debate thread

Tue Apr 11, 2017 1:05 pm

Today I heard that Samson was in Tokyo, so I challenged him to a public debate on the scaling issues.

He replied with:

https://twitter.com/Excellion/status/851729582809956352

Since I assumed that meant he was agreeing to the debate, I sent him a DM to work out the details.
Here is the conversation that took place:

I'll let the public make up their mind on the rest of this.
I'm available in Tokyo for Samson any time.

Why would a plain debate be meaningless?

A role reversal though, definitely meaningless. And he seems to force it based on the skype chat log too.

Just move on from this @rogerver. Find a smarter dude to have a debate with. Definitely not worth your time.

I would like to see this take place on a public forum or preferably podcast.
All the rules set forward in the quoted chat seem fair and the role reversal would add a nice touch for each to hear how they sound to each other.

I don't know enough about the code to take sides on this scaling debate, I just want to see the best for bitcoin and that's not saying I do or do not want BU or SegWit but we obviously need something soon to cope with the evergrowing network.
Maybe the new proposal of extended blocks could be debated.

@patrick.miller, why would you not like to see this take place?
I know Roger can get very passionate at times during debates and discussions but I think that just shows his strong dedication to seeing bitcoin succeed for everyone worldwide.

All the podcasts I have listened to him on he always allows others to have their say, not always uninterrupted but their is a rule to this debate that any interrupting will call an end to it so why not go ahead with it?

What, he couldn't even spend an hour debating a very important subject.
I wanted to see the role reversal he suggested ;)

Such a shame. I was really looking forward to seeing Samson make a fool of himself.

This guy is such a dirt bag.
He is the chief strategy officer of Blockstream and is openly supporting the censorship on /r/Bitcoin but too afraid to actually have a debate on any of the issues.

Well everyone, thanks to the Deconomy conference in Seoul Korea, the debate finally happened!

One user summed it up by saying: "Does Samson even have a job after this? That was the most savage annihilation I've ever seen in a Cryptocurrency debate."

Thanks for posting the whole video, interesting.

Man Samson is rude though, did he really walk out before Craig spoke, that's crazy. Who cares if Craig is Satoshi or not, the fact is that he is an incredibly smart man and defiantly worth listening to, no matter what side of the scaling debate you are on.

It seems Bitcoin Core supporters are now hung up on babies, and Charlie Lee has jumped in the fray :

It's amazing how Roger has complete control of the troll narrative, the trolls will attack the person as they've no possible way to counter the "Empirical evidence" at this point. I believe a silent majority are at the very least questioning Bitcoin Cores validity as Bitcoin, exciting times are ahead for Bitcoin Cash.

Thanks Roger for taking all the hits from the Troll Armies, the louder they cry and insult, the larger the cracks get in their armor.
