Quick summary, this is a great user tutorial on Wirex. I was unfamiliar with this app and service, and wow is it cool and useful!
The money savings referred to in the thread title is the transaction fee imposed when exchanging currencies. Wirex allows you to convert Bitcoin into various currencies without the transaction fee, so one can buy bitcoin with any major fiat and then convert it to a different fiat currency and all you're paying is the bitcoin transaction fee. You'll also get a better exchange rate with this app than you would at a typical change bureau located in a tourist location.
