Bitcoin Talk Signature Campaign

Wed Apr 13, 2016 1:36 pm

If you still use Bitcointalk, please consider changing your signature to something like this:

Actual BB code:

Code: Select all

[url=https://forum.bitcoin.com][b][color=#FF0000]Join me in the uncensored Bitcoin.com forum[/color][/b][/url] [url=https://www.bitcoin.com/]Bitcoin.com[/url] also has the [url=https://news.bitcoin.com]Latest News[/url], [url=https://free.bitcoin.com]Free Bitcoins[/url],  [url=https://www.bitcoin.com/spend-bitcoin-online]2.5M Items For Sale[/url], [url=https://www.bitcoin.com/podcast]A Podcast[/url], [url=https://wiki.bitcoin.com/]A Wiki[/url], [url=https://price.bitcoin.com/price]Price Charts[/url], [url=https://chat.bitcoin.com/price]IRC Chat[/url], [url=https://tools.bitcoin.com/]Lots Of Tools[/url], and [url=https://bitcoin.com/]much much more![/url]
Also, if someone has the time and know-how, I'm open to sponsoring this to be people's signatures on that other forum since they have all sorts of signature campaigns going on over there.

Looks ok but no bold enough, if you look at the signatures on bitcointalk they really stand out.
We need something special, a signature that when people see it they will want to follow the link.

It would be great if you could offer similar rates to a select group of our members for wearing the signature.

We would have to be careful that our members don't spam bitcointalk with our signature, just a couple here and there would be sufficient

I just signed up yesterday to a sig campaign that pays a fixed 0.042btc per week just to earn some extra BTC, but I would happily change this for similar rates.

If you know how to make an even better signature, please make it!
I'm sure myself and others will gladly use it.

Not myself but I know of someone that I could ask.
The wording in your signature is good I just think the whole sig needs to stand out more.

Let me get back to you on this.

My bct sig starts at 1 btc pm.
And I wouldn't be wearing that thing.

(Ok also)

Did I verify myself as rizz?
I didn't think I could post, until I did?
(I am)

I can't (be bothered) to find the sig campaign pages, so I'll post here. (you can move this bit if you like)

To be different from bct, and to (help) avoid spamming, bitcoin could be "awarded" (weekly/ monthly/ yearly) to good/well thought/funny/popular/etc posts in different topic sections.

Advertisers could post their sig on you, for a limited time, if you were awarded (and accepted) a payment sponsored by them.
For example, "betawayyourbtc" could sponsor the 10 best weekly posts in the gambling section.
Advertisers would have to list winners, and why.

A smaller number of awards, compared to current bct sig campaigners, (seems like nearly everyone) could be given, so increasing individual rewards.
A min award could be, maybe 0.05btc.

Everyone has a chance to be awarded at any time, if their post is relevant.
But only a few ads here and there, Maybe even becoming a (relative) badge of honour/respect.

Hey, I don't know I've explained to well, but.. fuck this forum needs something to kick start it.
Is this forum hoping to keep going long term?

Yes we are here for the long run :)

I agree that the current signature offered doesn't look good enough yet, i was trying to find someone that could redesign a nice but haven't found anyone yet. I will follow up on that when I have a minute.

Regarding the payout for advertising this forum on bct the 0.05btc minimum you mentioned would be very generous.
I am currently in one of the highest paying campaigns on bct receiving a fixed 0.042btc weekly for just 25 posts
The reason it pays so high compared to the others is because it probably has the strictest rules covering all sorts of rules but especially spam posting.
The manager Lutpin is great at what he does and will kick out anyone who is just spam posting for the coins.

I will post some ideas i have about this topic a bit later today.

Sorry i got a little side tracked with other work.
What would you like to know?

We have discussed signature campaigns here before and the discussion can always continue on this thread: the-forum/signature-campaigns-t491.html

Yes the member base here is still very small but growing slowly.
I have noticed more users online that remain as guests so we do need to find a way for more people to sign up, my feeling is that some are just stopping in to see if we run signature campaigns.

This is just copied from the home page:
In total there are 67 users online :: 9 registered, 0 hidden and 58 guests (based on users active over the past 15 minutes)
Most users ever online was 814 on Wed May 18, 2016 2:16 pm

I will have to check why no bots are online.

I think it is likely that one day this will be a busy forum but we are still young so there is a long road ahead.

It might be a good idear to host a sig design competition on bitcointalk. It seems to work pretty well...

Just create a post detailing what kind of signatures you want, explain that contestants have 1 or 2 weeks to provide you with a full set of signatures for every rank and point out that the creator of the signature set you eventually end up using will receive a fixed bounty (you can even give a small bounty to the runner up, or pay a slightly elevated rate per post or fixed rate for all designers that participated once your campaign goes live).
I think 0.1 or 0.15 BTC should attrackt sufficient designers.

This way your campaign already gains some momentum before it even starts, and you get to pick between several designers, and only pay the one that delivered the best work ;)

I would also suggest hiring a good campaign manager over there... Those campaigns do need to be managed on a daily basis to weed out the spammer and the people who don't follow your rules.

Roger, great idea! There's only two forums and if people are getting sick of the spam and hawkish activity by Mods over there they should come to Bitcoin.com, i.e., The Forum, to seek salvation!

I do have one question to others - has anyone received negative retribution by trying to encourage members away from Bitcoin Talk?

The correct URL is https://price.bitcoin.com which does not include the /price at the end. Remove that and the URL will work.

Might need some tweaking on the sig permissions:

Code: Select all

This is a block of text that can be added to posts you make. There is a 255 character limit. Your message contains too many URLs. The maximum number of URLs allowed is 5.

Is this from Bitcointalk? Yes they have restrictions on signature length and formatting (e.g., color, text size, etc.) until you get to more senior ranks of membership...which takes time and posts.

Roger, has anyone taken you upon the offer to sponsor their signature in Bitcointalk? I'd be interested to know the rate or arrangement you're offering. Thank you.

Actually, it's from this forum! But there's no panic. I've pinged someone in the know and they're going to be taking a look at this later today.
