That was a great video discussion about Segwit vs Unlimited and it gave a good insight into the thinking of two people from different sides.
First off i think they could have found someone better than Tone Vays to debate the pros of Segwit. I am sure the guy is intelligent in his own field but he should not have been the one to debate this, he himself admitted many times that he really doesn't know how it all works.
He should take the same stance as i do, if you don't know enough about the topic then don't argue with someone that does.
Now Tone may be happy to pay $100+ transaction fees (yes he really did say that he is happy for $100 fees in bitcoin) or at least he would be happy for others to pay it as he said he not only doesn't use bitcoin very often but doesn't even own many, i can tell you that i wouldn't be using bitcoin if the fees started to get anywhere near that.
From the start this guy couldn't stop pushing the fact that core has x number of devolepers and BU only has a few, almost like more is always better. I admit BU could always do with more devs working on the project and i think Roger may be right when he said most of the devs currently working with core would switch to BU as soon as it is adopted so they will come eventually.
One thing i really didn't like was that even after admitting he is not a very technical person when it comes to the bitcoin code he proceeded to knock Gavin Andresen and even Satoshi for not being that good, i know these people aren't gods but show some respect, not many have devoted as much time to bitcoin than those two, just the fact that they are gone says something about the way bitcoin is headed.
Someone help us if the whole core teams thinks the same way as Mr vays.
After watching that video it only strengthen's the reasons why i choose to support Unlimited.
It is closest to the version of bitcoin that i fell in love with and i don't want to loose everything we have been working towards.
Score:
Roger Ver: 1
Tone Vays: 0
Ps. The subtitles were so bad that anyone watching and relying on them instead of sound wouldn't have known what was being discussed.
Keep up the fight Roger!
