NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID ?

Wed Sep 23, 2015 8:41 am

If you are seeing this error in your browser, please provide as much information as you can. OS, browser, versions etc. It would also be helpful if you could provide screenshots from the SSL details in your browser to debug what is causing this.

According to SSLlabs, we score A+ - and none of the browsers we have been testing on are indicating that there would be anything wrong.

Thank you very much for your assistance!

Simply as an FYI, I have never seen this error appear on any of the devices I've been accessing this site from.

Error message pops up on Android. I view the cert and it says valid though when I go into details.

Several people contacted me on twitter saying there were SSL problems on Android. If someone has a screen shot, please post it here.

Indeed ...
The problem seems to be on chrome/android ... as far as I can see the certificate is OK (ok, we know about Comodo fiasco in the past http://arstechnica.com/security/2011/03 ... -question/ )

but I found that one on android developers website: Common Problems Verifying Server Certificates

I see the error on certain pages of the forum. I am seeing it right now. It seems that it is just on posts and only on some of them. I don't see it on the homepage of the forum..when I do see the error it says that a site is not fully encrypted, it contains unencrypted elements (such as images) or that encryption is not strong enough..when I look at the details of the certificate on pages with error it says "Verified by: Not specified", but on the working ones it says "COMODO CA Limited" as it probably should. But when I open to view the certificate it look identical on both..(both says verified by "COMODO CA Limited"). Refreshing does not help. Im on Ubuntu by the way, using Firefox. Hope it helps. Tell me if you want me to run wireshark to look at it a bit more. Hope it helps :)

PS: I see "sid" parameter in the url sometimes which kinda worries me. I thought that it should be encrypted and urls can be seen by anyone in the middle.

I switched the SSL certificate of the forum to another cert. Hopefully this will work better. Please contact me if you experience any trouble.
