As an avid Bitcointalk forum user (And always will be) its great to finally see a new reputable Bitcoin related forum come to life. Whilst I love Bitcointalk, I think it has an underlying issue which has been truly disregarded and led to a slow deterioration of quality within the forum. This issue is signature campaigns.

I understand there is already a topic discussing this but I'd like to express it solely here so I can also contribute to the forum

Back in 2013 Stunna & myself created Bitcointalks first ever signature campaign. Before that there were people advertising their own websites, but the idea of other users being paid to post to advertise for you was a foreign concept. It ended up being a great marketing tool - but we had no idea what effect it'd later have on the forum itself.

We continued the campiagn for over a year and other Bitcointalk users slowly joined this new found way to gain traction for their businesses. To begin the campaigns weren't really abused. A lot of old members joined up and just went about their everyday posting. This didn't last. People realised this system was quite easily abusable. By abusing the system I mean that people were no longer just posting on Bitcointalk for the sake of discussion, but for the pay.

What happened then? Bitcointalk was flooded with people who didn't necessarily want to participate in conversations or topics give their contribution. This led to spam and useless posts on quite literally every topic. It was not possible to have a serious discussion anymore. It even got to the point where bots were created just for signature campaigns to post on topics.

Despite it being a fantastic way of putting our name out their whilst also a profitable marketing technique, we did not like the rapidly deteriorating quality of a forum we had been involved with for so long. We stopped our campaign and have since attempted to persuade others to do the same on Bitcointalk, but with very little success.

I urge you do not allow signature campaigns on this forum & have it highly moderated. I still also urge any Bitcointalk users to stop this as well.

Post a quality topic/thread somewhere amongst these boards. The topic can be about anything related within this forums subs, but should aim to create quality discussion and interesting replies. These topics should be at least a couple of paragraphs long and have underlying meaning and sense. Anything that doesn't meet those guidelines (It's pretty easy so hopefully no one abuses this.) will not be given the BTC.

This will be applicable for the first 50 users. Hopefully we can get 50 new and interesting discussions on these boards going. I respect your imput as your have been in this game a long time and have seen firsthand what signature campaigns can do to a forum.

Your right signature campaigns can bring more member to the forum but if there only signing up to spam for BTC payouts then thats not really need, espcially from a moderators point of view.
What i beleive we are trying to do here is encourage user to sign up because they want to openly take part in thing like the AMA we have planned and many more great plans for the future.
