Ledger Nano X is the best hard wallet if you're looking for one of those.

1. HB WALLET

HB Wallet is an all-in-one Ethereum Wallet developed by Bacoor Inc. — a technology company based in Malaysia. The wallet is announced as the number one Ethereum wallet in Japan in 2019 with its particular features and sleek design. HB Wallet has a robust host of functionalities, which some of them designate the wallet “more progressive” than other models in the same category.

HB wallet allows users to store both Ethereum, ERC20, ERC223 and ERC721 tokens. There are 4 versions available on iOS, Android, Mac, and Windows, which synchronize across multiple devices using passphrase to offer users a fast and secure access.

Send and receive NFT assets (ERC-721 tokens) instantly through chatting!

Not long ago HB Wallet has launched a new chat function allowing their community to send and receive NFT assets (ERC721 tokens) instantly through chatting. The function has received huge support from the community as it is thoughtfully designed for users with convenience and simplicity. Users are not only able to send messages, emojis, images but also Ethers and Tokens to other individuals at hand. It is notable that HB Wallet is the first Ethereum Wallet to include this specific function in their platform’s utility.

This May HB Wallet has also announced the launch of HB NFT Market. The feature offers users a dynamic marketplace to exchange their items, as well as characters from any Dapp Games that built on the Ethereum Blockchain. Users can sell and buy their desired items comfortably, also negotiate with their business partners before transactions secured by smart contracts. All essential functionalities are found in HB Wallet without having to switch between different platforms.

HB Wallet is also the first wallet to conduct an Integrated Decentralised Exchange within their ecosystem. HB DEX allows users to trade their ERC20 Tokens and Ethers directly on their desktop. All users need to do is free-downloading the HB Wallet desktop application onto their computer, which is safer than using web-based exchanges or wallets with hidden insecurities.

The active community in HB Wallet is also a plus. Users are always notified with Cryptocurrency News, related Events and informative articles. Airdrops from organizations and communities are generally given to individuals with no request for anything in return.

Anonymity is one of the most priorities in HB Wallet since there is no such requirement for personal information to create a new wallet, or to restore data from your other wallets. Passphrase and Private Key are always available in the Settings securely with Biometrics and PIN locks. The wallet also supports fully up to 8 languages.

2. METAMASK

Metamask is a free, open source browser extension with centralized validation, allows you to access Ethereum and ERC20 cryptocurrency tokens easily. The wallet is available on Google Chrome, Firefox, Linux and the Brave Browser.

Metamask requires no login and does not store your private keys in any server, instead they are stored on your browser. It also has a built in phishing protection to automatically identify phishing and malicious websites to protect users. It is indeed a very welcome add-on security feature, but not something you should rely on. Another feature is the built-in ETH to BTC swap facility.

Albeit being known as one of the best ERC20 wallets, MetaMask still receives some complaints from users. The most common ones are the UX (user experience) not as great and the incapability on mobile platform, since it is only used as an extension of mentioned browsers.

3. MYETHERWALLET

MyEtherWallet is an open source, javascript, client-side interface offers users the access to Ethereum. The wallet also allows users to generate new Ethereum wallets and demonstrate transactions with smart contracts. As a client-side wallet, all of your private information and funds are stored on your computer instead of MEW servers. This means users are fully responsible for safely backing up their wallets. The wallet is also compatible with popular hardware wallets such as Trezor, Nano, or Ledger. MyEtherWallet is available on both desktop and mobile platforms.

First-time Ethereum users seem to struggle with MEW since the wallet is not as slick and friendly as some other offerings. With every login user have to do many operations, including accessing MEW’s site, selecting files or copying Private Key. These small steps can unintentionally lead users to being hacked if they are not careful.

Since MEW has already been attacked successfully numerous times, last year the service announced the beta launch of their new mobile app to increase the security of their using site.

4. TRUST WALLET

Trust Wallet is a mobile wallet app that enables you to send, receive and store cryptocurrency tokens on the Ethereum blockchain. The free, open-source wallet is designed with a focus on the simplicity to deliver users an easy usage and straightforward setup.

Trust Wallet provides enhanced security features as users’ private keys are not stored on any server but instead, on their local device. App owners can safely view and control their assets associated with their account, which is only them having access to their private keys. The mobile platform also includes a backup facility for simple recovery. Individuals can also add a wide range of biometric market systems to the wallet.
Trust Wallet supports most types of ERC-20 tokens and also ERC-223. The wallet available on both iOS and Android also contributes to its all-in accessibility as an app. Another plus is that it gives users the control over their private keys and completely preserves users’ anonymity, which is a very important factor to crypto enthusiasts in the space. This year Trust Wallet has also announced a new feature — WalletConnect, which enables users to connect desktop Dapps to mobile wallets without compromising recovery phrases or private keys. WalletConnect is also integrated with Binance DEX, allowing users to trade its crypto directly on the platform.

The fact that Trust Wallet is strictly designed for the Ethereum ecosystem, users are unable to store tokens from other platforms. Another disadvantage is that the wallet doesn’t include an NFT market, which means users have to uncomfortably switch to another third-party platform such as Opensea for item exchanges. Trust community has not yet experienced any airdrop events from the company and investors.

5. ATOMIC WALLET

Atomic wallet is a third party wallet with the idea of an all-in-one cryptocurrency solution.

Atomic Wallet, as a universal multi-currency wallet, allows users to store and manage over 300 cryptocurrencies and more being added every time. The wallet itself is a free desktop application that can be downloaded onto your computer. Users’ private keys and other data will be stored on your desktop device in an encrypted form.

This wallet will interact with the blockchain of supported coins to show you the transaction history when you require, instead of storing this vulnerable information somewhere. Users can also use the Atomic Wallet Coin (AWC) token as an exchange to perform features such as rising higher in the atomic swap queue or paying listing fees to get your tokens supported by the wallet.

Atomic Wallet is completely secure as long as you do everything correctly. As an open-source, it reduces the chances of bugs or hidden vulnerabilities creeping into the programming and data like passwords. However, it might still be risky if you install the wallet on a computer that has malware, or which connects to the Internet through an unsecured wifi network. It’s also critical that you keep your backup phrase — a secondary password, protected. This backup phrase is how you restore access to your funds whether your computer is no longer working.

There are many different types of wallets, which you need to choose depending on what you do and how you use cryptocurrency.

Paper wallet - storage
Hardware wallet - larger payments
Browser wallet - micro payments

Hardware wallets are the most versatile and best. They provide good security and allow you to make payments.
