Rogers competing Core project?

Tue Sep 13, 2016 8:50 am

Hello!

I heard an interview with Roger Ver where he was talking about a competing Bitcoin Core project is either wanted or has started.
Where can I read more about that and what is the name of that project?

Best regards,
- Minimons

Competing with core how, new coin, hard fork bitcoin?
Taking over and replacing of the entire bitcoin core devs team (close to impossible)
Do you have link to this interview or any info on where i can find it?
Haven't heard about this myself until now.

Yes,
I'm in the process of hiring a competing dev team.
So far I have identified several very strong candidates and made a firm offer to one of them with more to follow.

Wow! A reply from _the_man_! ;-)

Will the project be named something? How can I follow without missing a beat?

Roger - thanks for all the good you are doing in the world!! A pure role model!

Wow is right :o
That would be an amazing accomplishment if you could pull it off, definitely keep the updates coming.

It's the craziest thing i have heard anyone planning all year and I say that as a good thing.

The first step is to complete the mining pool.
I think we will mine our first block this or next week.

After that, I will focus on a dev team that shares the goals of people who are actually using bitcoin in commerce.

The current problem is so bad that current Core supporters are openly saying things like this:

"We should not change Bitcoin to accommodate more users." - @eragmus

Stay tuned!

I'd love your help to start hyping the coming pool, and bitcoin.com in general!

My head is still spinning that someone involved with Bitcoin would actually say "We should not change Bitcoin to accommodate more users."

Are they? I mean if I have learned one thing in life it is that when something seems ignorant or stange it is always because I am lacking some information. Do anyone have informations regarding the cons for increasing the block size?

Regarding the new core project (VerFork?? JollyRogerFork? Or just JollyFork?) ;-)

When the take over happens, will it be like with the Ethereum HardFork?
So we will have the same amount of JollyBTC that we have in ClassicBTC?
What about mining hardware? Will that still be the same hardware just mining for the competing pool?

If we should help Roger with mining power I want to start building a rig soon, but I do not want to build an incompatible system.

Best regards,
- Minimons

Definitely bad people.

To date, I have not reviewed any legitimate cons to increasing the blocksize. Various studies such as the one from Cornell also agree that raising the blocksize to 4MB is safe. It was the intent of the creator to raise the blocksize, as publicly documented.

My professional recommendation on the situation is that we stick to the plan as outlined in the Satoshi Nakamato Bitcoin white-paper. It has been a massive success in only 8 years.
