Are you more upset by the Censorship, or the slowness of scaling progress?

Mon Apr 04, 2016 10:31 am

I'm personally upset by both, but much more upset by the censorship, and the refusal of the side benefiting from it to stand up against it.
It could come to an end instantly if the Core team would clearly say that they don't support the censorship, and because of that, they will no longer be posting in /r/Bitcoin until it changes. They can use /r/BTC or whatever else they want.

Which has you more upset?

These are the only statements I found on the topic from Core from a quick Twitter search of Adam's profile from the begining of the year:

https://twitter.com/adam3us/status/692653007708758016

And not a single mention of the censorship taking place when they wrote an entire blog post to clarify their position on communications:

All of the above including the choke-hold on mining!!!!!

When you speak out against them, they attack your network!!!!!!! I guess their parents didn't teach them that you should becareful of who you pick a fight with, there is always a bigger - stronger persons out there ;)

Both. Scaling should never have been an issue in the first place. It should have been increased over a year ago and this debate would never have been needed. As for censorship it's not just the censorship but the control of all the major information sources by a few that I worry about.

I think censorship is leading to all sorts of problems, including misinformation about scaling being adopted by many people.

If there is an open and honest dialogue, and the vast majority of people are still against scaling - I have no right to force my opinion on them.

I have just given up now as the direction being followed is not what I originally signed up to. I have moved most of my holdings to Dash as it seems more user focussed with better incentive structure.

Blockstream are slowly letting bitcoins network effect fade away. It is a shame.

At this stage, equally upset by both.

In the beginning, I was only upset by censorship (starting from /r/Bitcoin).

Honestly, a scaling debate always takes time, so that's expected.

But when censorship is used to push one side of that debate, it's when I get upset equally at the slow pace of scaling.
