OP doesn't need that much cash, they can invest as much as they see fit. In theory right now would be the time to invest seeing as the price has been hanging around 6.5k for a while--which is the lowest it seems to go to.

2014 was the only year in the history of Bitcoin that you LOST money if you invested at the beginning of the year… I believe 2018 will perform in a similar way although I don’t expect the bear market to last as long.
