If I were to somehow get lucky and see I've made a huge profit and wanted to cash out my BTC to USD on gdax, how do I know the best rate to get the most for the buck? Brand new to this confusing crypto buying/trading market with no person to walk me through the process. Seems like all help on internet and youtube still require that you understand a lot. I need help for dummies....

Welcome to Cryptocurrency trading! If you want to get the best rates for cashing out BTC into USD, you should always sell at the top, meaning when BTC is worth more USD. You will need to have fundamental knowledge (News) and also some basic technical analysis (Charting) to know if BTC is going to run (go up) or down.

Put it simply, for fundamental news, Bad news about Cryptocurrency = BTC price goes down, Good news about Cryptocurrency = BTC price goes up

As for technicals, this would be more advanced as you can predict if BTC is gonna go up or down from indicators such as RSI (Oversold,Overbought), MACD crosses and price action. Check out https://www.babypips.com/ for more info.

You can sell at current market price or wait and see if it increases. The market is so volatile however that the price of btc can change dramatically from one day to the next. Apart from that, every exchange has different fees that they tack on when you make a transaction (in this case sell). In your case, gdax has no fees for withdrawals.
