Is bitcoin it here to stay or is there a date for a major crash?

Many might be wondering if the bitcoin bubble will ever burst or if that might never happen.
There could be many Nostradamus predicting either way, so here is a web page to show a nice summary of the most popular predictions.

In my opinion, blockchain will surely stay in many fields (voting, banking, ...) but I am still not sure about the BTC coins themselves. I feel like the value of a currency should be backed by a government (justice, laws) and the value of gold comes from its unique properties that are impossible to replicate, unlike bitcoin which can have different sorts of forks and alternatives. If a cryptocurrency or cryptogold is adopted wouldn't governments want to start a new coin variant from the scratch to avoid making only a few rich and breakin the status quo?

What do you think? :?:

I believe that bitcoin has the potential to withstand a capitalization of 1 trillion
