Kill Ebay - Open Bazaar looks great!

Tue Dec 15, 2015 2:18 pm

Just found that short video from Open Bazaar. They did a great job. It looks very intuitive and nice :)

What do you think? Will you sell or buy something there?

If they can purchase a better domain, such as "ob.com" - it would be really great. I don't even know why Oxfam needs ob.com, they can just sell it to Open Bazaar and use the funds for their causes.

If it works as it looks, say goodbye to centralized marketplaces like Ebay 8-)

Cool vid.

Important to have a good usability to users, specially for buyers.

Hope it can surpass Alibaba, Amazon, eBay, Dark markets...

Anyone sitting on a two-letter .com domain is unlikely to sell it, and if they did then the price would be prohibitive to any open source movement. However, the product should be good enough to promote based on its own merits, not some fancy domain or other marketing spin. Do we have any indications on when the product will be released as a non-beta version?

Agreed, however - the reason I expressed that they need a shorter, easy to remember domain is for use in a good marketing strategy. Never under estimate the importance of short, easy to remember domain as a vital tool to your businesses success, especially for an ebay schemed business. Good branding nets good sales.

You would be surprised at how easy it is to acquire a domain you wish to buy so long as you have the cash on deck. If you need to raise the cash, raise it :)

OpenBazaar looks really promising. i have a very good feeling from OB devs, looks like they are working really hard. Many people are asking for Bitcoin killer app...I believe this will be the one.
I had also high hopes for Lighthouse, which was dissapointment, so let's hope "this time it's different" ;)
On K-PAX we pay everything with Bitcoin. It is cryptocurrency that you, people, will use very soon. You are just not ready yet.

I love that they are really thinking about the front end UX. There are so many bitcoin related services that make it super geeky to understand and so the average Jo exits. Having a beautiful, easy to understand interface is key to success. You can have the coolest and most useful idea in the world but if the user interface or the user experience is terrible then it will either die a slow death or a competitor will make the same thing with a better UI and UX
