Could not update transaction history

Please help, I bought bitcoin through simplex as per the Bitcoin.com instructions, and for the last day and a half the only result I get in my wallet is 'could not update transaction history '. I have been through the forum and followed the instructions that I should create more empty addresses and then make it scan again.. this changed nothing. Please help I want my bitcoin.
