How to backup the Bitcoin.com Wallet

I installed the wallet and set it up so it says "your bitcoin wallet is ready". During the setup process I got my Backup Phrase. So does that mean my wallet is backed up? If I installed the wallet on a new computer and entered my backup phrase it would restore my access to the bitcoins? That can't be right. Do I just need to copy the files of the wallet to a thumb drive or CD or something and that backs them up? Where is the documentation for using this software (the Bitcoin.com guides don't go into this detail as far as I have found)? Thanks.

Yes, as long as you wrote down your 12 word backup phrase that was given to you on setup you will be able to restore your wallet and any funds at anytime with that phrase so keep it very safe.

I found some more detailed guides here:

They are actually linked within the wallet app itself under Settings > Help and Support
These guides should probably be more visible and linked from the wallet download page.

So it appears that all you have to do is have the recover phrase to recover your bitcoins. I have no idea how this could possibly work so if anyone can provide a link that explains this in technical terms I would appreciate it. I'll update this thread if I find the answer.
