If there's one thing the recent Parity bugtaught us, it's that nothing is ever secure.

It might be theoretically impossible to hack a large cryptocurrency - but that's only in theory. In practice, there are always backdoors or vulnerabilities that can be exploited over time. Even if those vulnerabilities are in humans (social engineering), there will still always be someone who exploits the weakest link.
