For those of you who believe in government, how do you justify using offensive force against peaceful people?
Isn't using force against peaceful people the very definition of government?force against peaceful people is never right.
i would argue that government is meant to be consensual. here is the thing. all humans are created equal and everyone pretty much wants to be happy and live a full life. now, in order to protect these rights (the rights to be happy and do whatever you want) some would argue that you need to create this entity, this group of machines people, that need to be put in charge of all the rest of the other people. this entity, is a government, and they get their powers from the consensus of the rest of the people. immediately, questions such as, "what constitutes people and consensus and powers?" come to mind. but we won't get into those things just yet. governments should be comfortable with the whole, out with the old and in with the new, when they become corrupt and destructive to the people it was meant to govern. but they usually are not. they are usually in places of power, sitting on fat stacks, paying whatever military lap dogs they need to to silence the dissenters that want a more perfect union.Isn't using force against peaceful people the very definition of government?force against peaceful people is never right.
If it's consensual, it's not government.
If it's government, it's not consensual.
