To use force, or not to use force, that should be the political question.

For those of you who believe in government, how do you justify using offensive force against peaceful people?

i believe in government but not as it stands today. however this can be because absolute power corrupts absolutely. the fat and rich and lazy only get fatter and richer and lazier at the expense of the working class.

force against peaceful people is never right. however what is the alternative to "agreed upon" circumstances or protocol? how do we even agree on such things? can we ever? can anyone ever justify forcing anyone to do anything? the short answer is no. but the long answer is, it's complicated. what happens when things are for the "good of humanity" or matters of "national security"? (i am not justifying violence, but some people have the logic, to make an omelette you gotta crack a few eggs.) also who gets to decide such things and why?

force is never the option. but tread lightly in your steps forward, for it always has been

Isn't using force against peaceful people the very definition of government?

If it's consensual, it's not government.
If it's government, it's not consensual.

i would argue that government is meant to be consensual. here is the thing. all humans are created equal and everyone pretty much wants to be happy and live a full life. now, in order to protect these rights (the rights to be happy and do whatever you want) some would argue that you need to create this entity, this group of machines people, that need to be put in charge of all the rest of the other people. this entity, is a government, and they get their powers from the consensus of the rest of the people. immediately, questions such as, "what constitutes people and consensus and powers?" come to mind. but we won't get into those things just yet. governments should be comfortable with the whole, out with the old and in with the new, when they become corrupt and destructive to the people it was meant to govern. but they usually are not. they are usually in places of power, sitting on fat stacks, paying whatever military lap dogs they need to to silence the dissenters that want a more perfect union.

this is why the united states was founded. this is probably why liberland was founded. this is why bitcoin was born. we are all seeking a more perfect way to have freedom and to be happy. not everyone will conform to every system. but if there is at least one system, one set of universal truths, one reality that everyone can abide by, that would be great.

but we don't live in this world where people don't fuck each other over and this is why governments are formed and this is why governments topple only to begin this whole crazy cycle anew.
