Complaints from users, Day 109 (16/11/2016):

Call things what they are:
"One thing I do a lot is communicate with people about what things we are focusing on in Bitcoin right now. Since this means I talk to a lot of fresh faces on a regular basis I started to notice trends. And I wanted to share my experience on how to get out of the trends that actively hurt us.

There is a lot of talk about the hard fork. And how dangerous this is.

The truth of the matter is that we are calling a procedure by the wrong name. The procedure we are talking about here is a protocol upgrade. And when we refer to this upgrade by the name 'fork' or even 'hard fork' all we do is highlight what happens should it fail. When a protocol upgrade is executed successfully, there is no fork. So why do we call it a fork? It makes no sense to call something by its most negative outcome.

We say ¨I'll drive to work¨ not ¨I'll crash on my way to work, see you this afternoon!¨.

I suggest we start using the term "Protocol Upgrade" and drop the term fork from our usage." - ThomasZander

Banned from /r/bitcoin for misinformation?
"You've been banned from participating in /r/Bitcoin subreddit message via /r/Bitcoin[M] sent 3 hours ago You have been banned from participating in /r/Bitcoin.

You can still view and subscribe to /r/Bitcoin, but you won't be able to post or comment.

Note from the moderators: constant misinformation

And all I was doing is expressing my opinion about the blocksize.

Original post:

"Why is bitcoin core ignoring this from the creator of bitcoin himself? A simple fix to the blocksize issue which has been causing these nonsense debates. This could have been implemented by core a long time ago and would have made confirmations time much quicker and of course a big reduction in transaction fees, just as bitcoin was meant to be."

Source: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic ... 6#msg15366 "it can be phased in, like: if (blocknumber > 115000) maxblocksize = largerlimit It can start being in versions way ahead, so by the time it reaches that block number and goes into effect, the older versions that don't have it are already obsolete. When we're near the cutoff block number, I can put an alert to old versions to make sure they know they have to upgrade." - helpergodd

"It's not censorship"; it's heavy moderation to manipulate public opinion and serve an agenda. And it's very bad.
"Whenever someone calls out Theymos' censorship, a small blocker is always quick to argue that it's not censorship but only moderation. And then they get drawn into an argument about semantics, which misses the point.

But it's an undeniable fact that Theymos applies heavy moderation with the intent of manipulating public opinion to serve the Core agenda. This kills free and open discussion and prevents people from coming to their own conclusions, which goes right against what Bitcoin stands for. Whether you call it censorship or not, it's bad.

So next time you argue with a small blocker, don't get drawn into an argument about semantics but call out how bad heavy moderation, intentionally manipulating public opinion to serve an agenda, is." - dskloet

Previously, Greg Maxwell u/nullc (CTO of Blockstream), Adam Back u/adam3us (CEO of Blockstream), and u/theymos (owner of r\bitcoin) all said that bigger blocks would be fine. Now they prefer to risk splitting the community & the network, instead of upgrading to bigger blocks.

Censorship test from Gavin: post two positive things one about BU and another about SW, and see what happens
"
r/btc: both tweets are on main page.
r/bitcoin: obviously the one about BU didn't have any chance.

EDIT: For those still pretending that there is no censorship or it is just downvotes, here is a link provided by in /u/jan_kasimi in comments https://np.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comment ... d_gaining/ which was made invisible on /r/bitcoin" - chakrop
The problem of this flawed core philosophy, is that this isn't a consensus model, it's the exact opposite.
"Not allowing any contentious changes is not a way to resolve differences, it's just a long term strategy to stall any changes which are not in the incumbents favor." - Digitsu
Every Bitcoiner should take it upon himself to test the censorship over in r/Bitcoin by posting a pro big block comment, just to gain an understanding of what it feels like to be censured.
"Is quite humiliating. Is tricky though, as their mods try to hide the censorship through shadow techniques. " - H0dlr

You cannot be simply incompetent; here you echo an increasingly rare refrain that hearkens back to the days of a communicative Satoshi. It is now inconceivable for me to use the defense of ignorance when attempting to justify your motivations and understand your arguments and conclusions - you have, without a doubt, a clear understanding of the issues at the heart of Bitcoin and cannot be simply misguided in your leadership and actions.
