Any experiences with joinmarket?

Sun Oct 18, 2015 11:50 am

https://github.com/chris-belcher/joinmarket

I have some unused bitcoins and I'd like to put them to work on the free market for a minimal profit and minimal risk.
Joinmarket is one option.

Does anyone have recent experiences with it?

JoinMarket - its platform, where you can mix bitcoins with other users. With help of smart contracts. And with cheaperst way. May be its possible to create asymmetrical deals, where first one takes more then second participiant in deal ...

What do you mean by that?
That 2 users looking to tumble their coins can tumble different amounts?

How you see you can make money with you BTC in this?

Okay, that's what I expected (the main feature of the software).

How to make money? I saw (bitcointalk.org joinmarket thread) that people charge anywhere from 1 to 0.01%.
If joinmarket is secure, I would consider charging some low amount (say 0.1%).

It may be safer and more profitable to lend BTC on one of the exchanges, but who knows whether it's really safer and besides that market is well served (so many people do it).
I thought someone might have first-hand experience and could share the experience.

The JoinMarket subreddit is a great source for discussion of this important project. I've been following the project since it moved off testnet into live transactions. I currently host an orderbook page that also has some more details. It is a very important privacy tool that I believe will become a big part of the future of bitcoin transactions.

No clue about this one. I always look for strong concept and professional team; it’s where my interest is highly for Stokit, as it’s a very solid upcoming ICO with having professional team behind. They are in early stage with the whitepaper coming in next 5/6 days. So I am eagerly waiting for it to be revealed.

Looking at the github repo and the issues section, it seems to be relatively active. It's an implementation of coinjoin and i've seen it mentioned here and there. No issues that I can see, so I don't see any problem with trying it out. Decentralised mixer that rewards the community? Awesome.
